  • This program aligns with Lendlease’s target of creating A$250 million worth of social value by 2025.

Singapore, 15 December 2022 – Lendlease Foundation is doubling its support for community and environmental causes in Singapore and Malaysia in the second cycle of its Community Grant program in Asia.  This enhanced grant package will be awarded to seven community-based organisations – three in Singapore and four in Malaysia – in 2023. Each grant is now worth $20,000 in the awardee’s local currency, doubled from last year’s $10,000 grant value.

The inaugural cycle of Community Grant Asia launched in 2021, recognising eight outstanding community organisations in Singapore and Malaysia, disbursing grants worth a total S$80,000 in March 2022.

The recipients were chosen from a total of 60 applicants and implemented a range of projects – from community cancer screenings, an empowerment program for mothers to creating renewable energy to power a plastic recycling facility.

In its second cycle, the Community Grant program similarly seeks to support local social enterprises, not-for-profit organisations and charities. These organisations must address a community need in one or more of the following Lendlease Sustainability Framework focus areas under its three sustainability imperatives: sustainable economic growth; vibrant and resilient communities and cities; and healthy planet and people.

  • Economic prosperity: upskilling and training and inclusive employment;
  • Community inclusion: community resilience and housing/homelessness;
  • Well-being: mental health support and physical health support;
  • Climate change and action: renewable energy and environment justice;
  • Nature and pollution: nature-based solutions and biodiversity; and
  • Resources and materials: circularity.

Community organisations that work on the above focus areas can apply for the Community Grant Asia between 15 December 2022 and 20 January 2023. Lendlease will name the awardees on 24 February 2023.
