Youths Zero-In on winning solutions at IKEA Singapore’s Young Designers Award 2019

2 JULY 2019, Singapore, Singapore – IKEA Singapore’s Young Designer Award (IKEA YDA)2019 yesterday crowned Raffles College of Higher Education’s Shin Heetae the overall winner of this year’s competition. Deeply embedded in IKEA’s core philosophy of using less for more, the theme of Zero Waste is particularly timely amidst the urgency of climate change and the Singapore government’s push for the Year Towards Zero Waste. Aimed to address waste decadence in Singapore and Asia, this year’s competition brief challenged students to propose and develop design innovations across four major waste streams – food, plastics, paper (or packaging) and e-waste. Kimberly-Clark switches on one of Singapore’s largest solar roofs at Tuas

Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NYSE:KMB)  switched on one of Singapore’s largest solar energy installations at its manufacturing facility in Tuas, which produces Huggies diapers and Huggies baby wipes. 7,730 photovoltaic panels mounted on its roof will generate 3.5 Gigawatt hours of clean energy, enough to power up a thousand 3-bedroom HDB flats for a year. Future Food Asia Award 2019

Announcing the winner of the 2019 edition of the Future Food Asia Award, the 2 winners of the ADB Ventures award and winners of the Alibaba Cloud and Bühler AI Challenge on Food Safety.

  • RapidAIM from Australia earned the US$ 100,000 Future Food Asia Award. Led by Nancy Schellhorn, the startup was crowned the winner for their innovative solution that provides high-resolution, real-time information of the location of pests for early detection, and targeted control.
  • Two startups were awarded the ADB Ventures award – Jai Kisan (India) and SatSure (India)
  • Three teams were awarded prizes as winners of the Alibaba Cloud and Bühler AI Challenge on Food Safety
  • As previously announced, four startups were also awarded Startup SG prizes worth S$50,000 each – Intello Labs from India, Phyto Corporation from South Korea, Shiok Meats from Singapore and VakSea from United States of America

NDRC unveils 2019 Feed-in-Tariff Levels for PV Projects

The 11th Guangzhou International Solar Photovoltaic Exhibition 2019, a chance for the PV community to gather together and rethink the industry’s development path under 531 new policy, is to be held in China Import & Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou, China on August 16-18 th ,2019.
It was reported that the National Development and Reform Commission (also NDRC) announced the levels of solar FIT payments, including residential solar system: RMB 0.18/per KW.h, Region One (resource-rich regions): RMB 0.40/per KW.h; Region Two (low-and-moderate-resource regions): RMB 0.45/per KW.h; Region Three (energy-constrained regions): RMB 0.55/per KW.h.
