Chartered Valuation Surveyor
William James (‘Bill’) Jones FRICS qualified as a Chartered Valuation Surveyor in 1986. He joined Shell in a Corporate Real Estate role in 2002 and through Shell, he came to work and live permanently in Singapore. From 2011 to 2016, he was the full-time RICS Managing Director for the SE-Asia World Region. From 2016 to 2025, he held a range of global Corporate Real Estate positions in Singapore during the past 8 years. He is also the author of the book ‘’The History of Chartered Surveyors in Singapore 1868-1968’’ published in May 2023. He was an elected member of the RICS Governing Council (the highest governance body within the Institution) from December 2019 to December 2024. He now divides his time between Singapore and the UK, providing a range of real estate consulting and training services. publication circulated every month.With a 12+ years experience in Media industry, she is passionate on Sustainability, Urban Greenery, and Circular Economy.

Landscape Architect
Dr Abdul Rahim Hamid currently a research fellow at NUS, obtained his doctoral degree from the National University of Singapore as well as a professional Master of Landscape Architecture Degree from the University of Melbourne in 2002. He focusses on Urban Ecology, Landscape Ecology, Remote Sensing & GIS, Landscape Planning, Landscape Architecture, Southeast Asian Urban History and Heritage. An eminent speaker, He has given the keynote address at various International Conferences and published a journal on Greening Cities: Forms and Functions. Springer: Singapore. He has practised as a Landscape Architect in several firms in Singapore and Sydney, working on design and planning projects in Australia, China, India and Singapore
Research Fellow, NUS
Dr Terrence Tan is a research fellow in the National University of Singapore, Department of Building. His research focuses on urban greenery (vertical and rooftop greenery, indoor plant lighting requirements, tree selection) and the development of a scientific landscape design framework to improve thermal comfort and mitigate the Urban Heat Island effect. His work on urban greenery has been presented both in local and international conferences, as well as being published in international journals such as Building and Environment, Energy and Buildings and Landscape and Urban Planning. He is the founder of Urban Green Lab, which specializes in providing greenery outreach to primary and secondary schools in Singapore through educational workshops.

With a strong foundation in landscape architecture and healthcare design, Dr Nieberler-Walker’s work focuses on how hospital gardens can be purposefully designed to enhance patient recovery, while also improving the wellbeing of visitors and healthcare staff. Her professional experience advocating for meaningful green spaces in healthcare projects inspired her pioneering research and the development of the Therapeutic Hospital Garden Guidelines.
These guidelines—developed for healthcare designers, decision-makers, and clinical practitioners—provide a structured framework to ensure that therapeutic gardens are consistently and effectively implemented in hospital settings.
Dr Nieberler-Walker is credited with establishing the term Therapeutic Hospital Gardens (THG) and continues to lead global conversations on integrating nature into healthcare infrastructure. Her vision is to see THG embedded in every hospital worldwide, contributing to healthier communities and advancing both human and planetary health.
